HOW DOES THE LOTTERY WORK AND WHY?
State law requires charter schools that receive applications beyond the enrollment cap to hold a lottery per grade level. Each year the Chain Exploration Center accepts 18 students per grade level in grades 4K-3 and 20 students per grade level in grades 4-8. There is one lottery which is held after the registration window closes. If a lottery is necessary it will be a public event open to applicants and families.
